When trying to improve your emotional wellbeing, it’s crucial to recognise that not everything on your to-do list holds the same weight. The pressure to do it all can feel overwhelming, especially when you are coping with abuse and trauma. Learning to let go of tasks that aren’t priorities right now is an important part of looking after yourself.
Start by taking a step back and evaluating your current commitments. Ask yourself: What tasks align with my immediate needs and goals? What can wait? This doesn’t mean abandoning responsibilities; rather, it’s about acknowledging that you can’t do everything at once. Focus on what genuinely requires your energy and attention, and allow yourself to set aside the rest.
